Reflection: I was interested in making artwork about the American Sniper movie. I cropped out all three images really carefully which took me a while to finish cropping these images. I used both flags as a background to represent patriotism in our country. I changed the color of one of the flags to match with Chris Kyle's picture. I also used hue/saturation with two of the images above and used text to put quotes about Chris Kyle.
Self-Grade: I believe I deserve an A on this assignment because it took me the whole period to finish these images.

Reflection on Notable Woman: I honestly believe in opinion that Michelle Obama is one of the best and most outgoing first ladies since Jackie Kennedy. She has brought together community leaders, educators, medical
professionals, parents, and others in a nationwide effort to address the
challenge of childhood obesity which I think it's very outstanding that someone in the White house wants change in our food industry to stop the spread of obesity in the United States. This why I decided to create an artwork of Michelle Obama, not because she's the first African-American First Lady, but because she wanted change in our country for the better.

Critique on Benjamin Von Wong
Critique on Benjamin Von Wong
DESCRIBE: In this artwork of Benjamin Von Wong, there is a picture of a camera crew filming under water. This picture here tells me that the mood in this picture has a passion for taking real pictures and putting them into one image and making them look so real. The picture’s colors is very bright, it contains light blue, and white. There are some dark colors as well such as black and light grey.
ANALYZE: Form is one of the elements that is represented in this artwork, due the artwork looking so realistic. The background in this image has a very light background with the colors light blue and white. In this image there’s very little space in this image but there’s a lot of emphasis towards this image.
INTERPRET: In my opinion I believe that Benjamin Von Wong was trying to create this image to express his talent of art taking real pictures and putting them into his own imagination. I also believe that he was also trying to show that he also has passion of painting and creating his own characters due to the artwork he created.
EVALUATE: I think the artwork succeeds in portraying the passion he has in his artwork. The artwork is both amazing and powerful. I think that this picture is very successful and very well created and the artist made this image with intent to make it look very professional and creative by using real people and putting them in his artwork.
SELF-GRADE: I believe I deserve an A on this critique because I followed all of the rules to critique Benjamin Von Wong's artwork.

Critique on Shepard Fairey
DESCRIBE: In this artwork of Shepard Fairey, there is a poster of Barrack Obama . This picture here tells me that the mood in this picture has a passion for propaganda of supporting politicians running for President. The picture’s colors is very bright, it contains light baby blue, red, and white to represent our country’s national colors.
ANALYZE: Form is one of the elements that is represented in this artwork, due the artwork looking so realistic. The background in this image has a very light background with the colors baby blue and red. In this image there’s not a lot of left over space but there’s a lot of emphasis towards this poster of Obama.
INTERPRET: In my opinion I believe that Shepard Fairey was trying to create this poster to help the Democratic Party gain support to vote for Obama for President of the United States. I also believe that he was also trying to show that he also has passion for creating propaganda for politics due to the artwork he created.
EVALUATE: I think the artwork succeeds in portraying the propaganda for voting for Obama. The artwork is both conveying and powerful. I think that this picture is very successful and very well created and the artist made this image with intent to make it look very professional and simple by using a portrait of Obama and simple colors for his artwork.

Critique on Andy Warhol.
Critique
DESCRIBE: In this artwork of Andy Warhol, there is a picture of a Campbell’s soup can. This picture here tells me that the mood in this picture has a passion for propaganda of selling products. The picture’s colors is very bright, it contains light gray, red, white and light brown.
ANALYZE: Form is one of the elements that is represented in this artwork, due the artwork looking real. The background in this image has a very light background with the color white. In this image there’s some left over space but there’s a lot of emphasis towards this Campbell’s soup can.
INTERPRET: In my opinion I believe that Andy Warhol was trying to create this image to help the Campbell’s soup company to sell its soup products by creating this Campbell’s soup can in this image. I also believe that he was also trying to show that he also has passion for Campbell’s soup products due to the art he created.
EVALUATE: I think the artwork succeeds in portraying the propaganda for Campbell’s soup company. The artwork is both conveying and powerful. I think that this picture is very successful and very well created and the artist made this image with intent to make it look very professional and simple by using simple colors for his artwork.
SELF-GRADE: I believe I deserve an A on this critique because I followed all of the rules to critique Andy Warhol’s artwork.

3. Now that that's done, let's add it to the background by using the Move Tool.
4. To move the image you cropped out, simply click the image and drag it to the background as shown above.
5. On this step you can do whatever you like to do, but for me I added some text by clicking the Horizontal Type Tool to describe the picture above.

Finished work from yesterday.
Artistic Statement/Reflection: I got the idea for this artwork when I noticed that Valentines Day is pretty close. I couldn't figure out how to fully accomplish this with tools in Photo Shop alone so I googled some Snoopy Valentines pictures. In order to make it match my idea for the image I found a roses background to match the idea that I had. Then I found an image of a heart and an image of Woodstock carrying a heart which would go perfectly for my assignment. So I cropped out those three images and put them into the roses background. Three of the images are juxtaposed onto the roses background using the cropping tool and the multiply layer function.

DESCRIBE: In Mr. Lim’s artwork, there is three kids getting together looking happy and silly for the camera.
ANALYZE: Form is one of the elements that is represented in these artworks due the artworks looking real. The background in this image has a bright background. The colors in these images are all used due to its celebration of the holidays in December. The three kids and the background have the colors red and white. In these images there’s not a lot of left over space but there’s a lot of emphasis towards this image.
INTERPRET: In my opinion I believe Mr. Lim was trying to create this image out of joy by creating this image he was able to represent his own creative way of celebrating the holidays in December.
EVALUATE: The artwork is both conveying and powerful. I think this image is very creative and original. Mr. Lim purposely tried to make the image look very good and represent a great greetings from his children a happy holidays this year.

Here in my slideshow I picked five of my best artworks for this final. All five of the artworks have five different themes. The first artwork's theme represents war and brotherhood. The second one represents joy and happiness to congratulate our school’s homecoming court. The third artwork represents celebration of Dia De Los Muertos. The fourth one represents happiness and the celebration of this year’s Halloween. And finally the fifth one represents our school’s spirit day. My strengths has been creative ideas for my artworks but my weaknesses have been the timing to finish these artworks. Through the past nineteen weeks I went from just cropping an image or two, to cropping more than that number and I’ve been able to change filter and many other abilities to change a picture. My future goal next semester is to be able to finish my artworks in class faster.

DESCRIBE: In this artwork of Norman Rockwell there are four different artworks in one. The first one is showing a man standing up in front of a crowd of people, which tells me that the mood in this picture is courageous. The picture in the right looks like a bunch of people praying and staring at something which shows me that their mood is curiosity and possibly religious. The bottom left picture shows two parents tucking their children to bed, which tells me that the mood in this picture is loving and caring. The last picture looks like a Thanksgiving feast which tells me the mood is happy and hunger. These four pictures, tells me that Rockwell is portraying America’s fine culture.
ANALYZE: Form is one of the elements that is represented in these artworks due the artworks looking real. The background in these images except for the bottom right, all have a dark background with dark colors. The colors in these images are all from the color of people and the backgrounds and are mostly differing shades of black, brown and white. In these images there’s not a lot of left over space but there’s a lot of emphasis towards these images.
INTERPRET: In my opinion I believe he was trying to create these images out of patriotism by painting these images to represent American culture at the time.
EVALUATE: The artwork is both conveying and powerful. I think that these pictures are successful as it is well drawn and the artist made these pictures with intent to make it look very good and represent a great culture that the United States has.
SELF-GRADE: I believe I deserve an A on this critique because I followed all of the rules to critique Norman Rockwell’s artwork and I analyzed and described what was presented in these images.

Week 17
12/5/14
17.6 Critique. Banksy.
17.6 Critique. Banksy.
DESCRIBE: The picture of this artwork looks like a rioter that’s about to throw something at someone or something. The color of the picture is very dark, such as black as the main color and white as the main background.
ANALYZE: I say the most important elements in this picture is color and form. The color in this picture shows it’s in a serious tone. The form in this picture is also important because it makes the art look like in 3D form (real life form)
INTERPRET: In my opinion I believe he was trying to create a violent/anger mood towards someone or something because an image like this you would normally see this during a riot towards the authorities (law enforcement). This artwork could be telling the viewers to revolt against any kind of authority or government.
EVALUATE: The artwork is both conveying and powerful. This artwork doesn't have too much detail but it has enough to convince the ideas to me as the viewer. It has enough description for me to realize that this artwork is telling the viewers of this artwork to revolt against the authorities. This artwork could also represent anarchy propaganda since anarchists oppose all forms of law and government.
SELF-GRADE: I believe I deserve an A on this critique because I followed all of the rules to critique Keith Haring's artwork.
